Streams & Valleys Plaza Is Now Open

Opened in 2026, Streams & Valleys Plaza is the newest community gathering space along the Trinity River & Trails.

Streams & Valleys Plaza is now open in Trinity Park, creating a new gathering space along the Trinity River & Trails for residents and visitors to enjoy year-round.

The project was made possible through a partnership between Streams & Valleys and the City of Fort Worth, transforming an underutilized area near the southwest side of the Phyllis Tilley Memorial Pedestrian Bridge into a welcoming destination for recreation, connection, and community.

The plaza features expanded trail access, a harvest table for gatherings, seating areas, a drinking fountain, native landscaping, pollinator gardens, and more than 60 newly planted shade and ornamental trees. Designed to support movement, relaxation, and outdoor experiences, the space strengthens Fort Worth's connection to the Trinity River while enhancing one of the city's most treasured parks.

The project officially broke ground on November 14, 2025, when more than 50 community members, donors, and local leaders gathered to celebrate the start of construction. Support from generous donors, including The Ryan Foundation, Gail Rawl, and Emily Hudson, helped bring this vision to life.

"Trinity Park holds a special place in Fort Worth's story, and projects like this one remind us that public-private partnerships have been shaping this park and this city for more than a century," said Lauren Deen, Executive Director of Streams & Valleys. "This plaza is a continuation of that legacy—people and partners coming together to create spaces that benefit our community for generations to come."

Today, Streams & Valleys Plaza serves as a place where people can gather, move, reflect, and enjoy the beauty of the Trinity River & Trails.

A Plaza Designed for Connection, Nature, and Community

The new Trinity Park Plaza includes:

  • Butterfly Garden providing vibrant habitat for pollinators and strengthening local ecosystems.

  • Sixty-three Tree Flowering Grove honoring Streams & Valleys founder Phyllis Tilley, with one tree representing each year of her life.

  • Harvest Table offering a welcoming place for community gatherings, reflection, and events.

  • Wildflower Meadow filled with native grasses and blooms that support biodiversity.

  • Additional Amenities including benches, shade trees, and a new drinking fountain.
